Whelk Shell – Minimal Figurative Painting Inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe

£1,000.00

Whelk Shell is a minimal figurative painting inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe’s desert paintings. Expanding on the idea of looking through an object, the painting offers a personal reflection through the use of enlarged whelk shells that were collected. The almost geometric structure of these shells creates a strong, contemporary minimalist series that echoes back to O’Keeffe, yet offers something more. This is the largest piece in the Whelk series.
