This painting was inspired by Georgia O’Keeffe as the sea worn shells from the West Coast of the Scottish Highlands have the same aesthetic as the sun bleached desert skulls of O’Keeffe’s paintings. This series elevates the small to the monumental and celebrates the sculptural qualities of these shells.
